New laws on road signs landed across the UK – 05/05/2016


There is a really interesting new article on the Road Safety GB web site That details the new law passed giving local authorities the right to decide wether to repeat multiple speed limit signs on roads or simply not to bother. Basically this means it may now be even harder than before to know for sure what speed you should be travelling at as you pass through different areas it will get rid of common standards and could lead to increased confusion amongst driver. Its definitely something to be more aware of and more details can be found here

Teenager Grant Ferguson passes sat-nav driving test – 26/05/2015


The DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) has been trialing a revised driving test that involves taking directions from a Sat Nav, The DVSA hopes to complete 1,000 of the new tests, which will continue until early 2016, with around 40 people so far that have sat the new style driving test designed to reflect the changing world of driving and technologies that acompany it, more about this can be found on the BBC's Website.



How to choose a driving instructor


We recently became aware of a new web site called First Time Driver It's got loads of useful info for new drivers, including this article on how to choose a reputable driving instructor take a look here. Towards the bottom of the article there is a really useful "Driving instructor checklist" it's definitely worth a read.


Changes to the hazard perception test


If you have to resit your driving theory test you might want too know that from Monday the 12th of January the tradional video based hazard perception part of the test has been replaced by a CGI (computer generated imagery) segment. This is too alow the DVSA to create situations on the hazard perception test that illustrate other road users such as cyclists in dangerous situations without actually putting them in these situations.
